JASC: Uka Sake's Mission to Strengthen U.S.-Japanese Ties (Online)

The Japan America Society of Chicago will present an online talk event about sake-making and U.S.-Japanese ties. Delicious as well as inspiring, Uka sake begins as organic heirloom rice on the Koda family farm in the San Joaquin Valley, California, before being brewed into sake at the Ninki Shuzō brewery in Fukushima, Japan. Owner Ross Koda created Uka sake to honor his grandfather’s vision and strengthen U.S.-Japanese ties. Join us to learn about this Japanese-American family’s journey of sake making as well as how sake has evolved in the U.S. The featured speakers are Ross Koda, Founder of Omurasaki Beverage Company & President of Koda Farms; and Michael John Simkin, Director of Sales & Marketing at Omurasaki Beverage Company.

Hours: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm (Chicago time)

Admission: $0 - $20
